The idea of establishing Medical Loan Department emerged as a result from the large number of requests received by the Anwar Al-Najafyia from people who need to undergo a surgery or buy a treatment that is difficult to provide for some patients due to its high cost, such as cancer treatments and others. They themselves or their families from delaying the initiation of treatment, which causes a deterioration of the health status of patients. Or some may be forced to borrow sums of money at high interest that burden the patient in the future.
Therefore, this project was initiated to cover the patient’s total need or to a rate through which he can secure the cost of treatment, and the same amount is returned without interest and in the form of instalments for a year.

Name of the project : Charitable Medical Loan Project

The Aim
To loan patients who need financial assistance to cover the cost of necessary medical procedure surgery or to buy medication up to 2,500 $ Dollar.

The Procedures

1- After reviewing the patient’s medical report and being assured of the mandatory treatment either medical surgery or medicine, we provide a loan by directly paying the hospital or to the patient.

2- The patient has to provide a guarantor to ensure that the loan will refunded. There are two ways; either

  • the borrower patient has to have a guarantor who is well- known to the foundation; or
  • he has to have a retired employee or currently in progress at work.
    i. In the case of a retired employee, part of the monthly salary will be withheld from the sponsor’s card in case the amount is not paid, and the reservation will be raised in case of payment by the beneficiary.
    ii. And in the case of the sponsor who continues in the official working hours, the guarantee shall be confirmed by requesting a letter from his office that certifies his continuity in the working, where the amount of the salary is mentioned in the letter.
  1. with the guarantor present, loan is to be divided on 12 months and the rest portion is to be deducted from the guarantor if the patient doesn’t repay the monthly instalment back.
  2. The amounts refunded from the beneficiary is lent to another beneficiary.
  3. The foundation is responsible for submitting a report to the donor and the guarantor about the amount loaned, date of refunds and place of treatment.
  4. This reports is either monthly or every three months and as per agreement.

Project Budget

  1. As a first step, we are working to provide an amount that covers 10 beneficiaries every month, until the number of beneficiaries reaches 120 beneficiaries annually, meaning the amount is $ 300,000.
  2. Refunded amounts will be disbursed to new beneficiaries who automatically move the project.
  3. Because the project is non-profit, there is no administrative expenses for the project, but rather it is covered by the institution.
